Overview

Red Carpet MVP is an online gaming site designed for fashion followers, runway mavens and award show junkies. Simply put: If fashion is your thing, this is your site.

Brought to you by the same team behind Fantasy Fashion League, Red Carpet MVP is an addictive way to put your fashion and celebrity knowledge to work. The core game – which allows you to build a Red Carpet Dream Team and then earn points when the celebrities and designers on your team are spotted on the red carpet – is extremely addictive. You will want to play against your friends to see who rules the red carpet. Follow the simple instructions outlined here and you can’t go wrong. Log in daily to adjust your line-up, see the points you’re scoring and find out what prizes you’re winning. We’ll do the rest!

Good luck and enjoy!

Red Carpet MVP is free … and fabulous! Register to manage your team of celebrities and designers. Then watch the points and virtual prizes roll in!

  1. You can sign up at any time; it does not have to be at the “start” of any season.

  2. When you register, you will need to share your email address and your name. All information is private; the Red Carpet MVP staff will not share/sell your information.

  3. You can start by selecting a team, or have the game select a team of celebs and designers for you (random).

Get Started

After becoming a registered RCMVP member, you will start to build your team. You will be given 250,000 points to shop for celebrities and designers for your team.

  1. Buy up to 10 celebrities and designers. If you want to buy only 2 (maybe 2 very high-end, expensive A-list Oscar nominees) go for it! Or you might want to buy 10 less expensive celebrities and designers to stretch your budget. It’s all up to you! Have fun strategizing!

  2. Buy celebrities that will earn you points. (See “Earn Points” below.) Pay attention to the upcoming events on the Red Carpet MVP Calendar.

  3. Think long-term and short-term. If the Grammys are tomorrow and you really want Taylor Swift, you can buy her, but she might be expensive. If you plan ahead and believe Judi Dench might be nominated for an Oscar a few weeks from now, pick her up while she’s cheap.

  4. Use your Bench. You can only have 10 Active Players. If you have more than 10 celebs/designers you will have to “bench” a few. Bench those that you are holding onto because you want to play them later. (You might bench Judi Dench until right before the Oscars, for example.)

  5. How much each celebrity/designer costs depends on how many people have them on their team. The more popular a celebrity/designer is, the more they cost. The value is based on how many people have them; the site is similar to a stock exchange.

  6. When you start to earn points, you can use them to buy more celebs/designers.

  7. You can sell your celebrities/designers to give yourself points. Just be warned: A celeb/designers value increases and decreases as the become more or less popular site-wide. (The whole stock exchange thing.) You may end up selling your celeb/designer for less than you paid for them. Or, you might sell them for more than you paid, in which case you really played the game well!

Earn Points

There are site-wide opportunities to earn points. Here's the skinny:

1. Red Carpet Appearances

Celebrities and designers who attend red carpet events will earn you points, if those celebs/designers are Active Players on your team. Pay attention to which events are coming up by checking the Calendar; only the events scored by RCVMP count. And do your homework to see which celebrities are slated to attend, present or even win! If you know the designers those celebs like to wear, you may earn even more points. Have your Active Players set before an event begins!

Award Shows

Here's how Red Carpet Appearances at Award Shows earn points:

  • 10,000 points - a celeb/designer presents an award and that celeb/designer is on your active roster

  • 15,000 points per nomination - a celeb/designer is nominated for an award and that celeb/designer is on your active roster

  • 50,000 points per win - a celeb/designer wins an award and that celeb/designer is on your active roster

Premieres and Special Events

Here's how Red Carpet Appearances at Premieres and other Special Events earn points:

  • 15,000 points - a celeb/designer attends the premiere of special event and that celeb/designer is on your active roster

Fashion Fridays

We enter designer points once a week – on Fridays. All the designer points from that week (Saturday-Friday) are entered each Friday. You receive points for the designers on your Active Team for each event scored, according to your Active Players you had on your Team for each individual event. So if you had Valentino on your Active Team for the Golden Globes, and celebrities wore Valentino to the Golden Globes, you will receive those Valentino points the Fashion Friday following the Golden Globes. It might seem a little confusing at first, but once you experience a Fashion Friday or two, it all makes sense!

The designers you have on your Active Team earn you points when celebrities wear those designers’ clothing and/or accessories to events we score. It pays to try and figure out which designer a celeb might wear! Here’s how points are earned:

  • 2, 500 points – a designer on your roster is worn by a celeb not your roster

  • 20,000 points – a designer on your roster is worn by a celeb on your roster

The RCMVP staff uses E!’s award show “pre-shows,” InStyle.com’s “Red Carpet Arrivals” and People magazine as sources of information to identify who wore what to events. We are also open to having you report a "who wore what" tidbit. If you have insider info on who wore what to an event we scored, send us the info at scout@redcarpetmvp.com and share! Please make sure to identify your source so we can confirm the designer identification. Being a “scout” just might help you earn some points!

2. Play Trivia

Each weekday, there is a set of themed trivia. Answer them all correctly, and you will earn 1,000 points! Do this each weekday and you'll earn yourself 5,000 points each week. Not too shabby.

3. Daily Pic

Each weekday, the Red Carpet MVP staff will choose one celebrity photo to post as our    "Daily Pic. " If that celebrity is one of your Active Players, you will earn 15,000 points. The Active Players you have as of 12 noon EST each day are who will be eligible to earn you points. The Daily Pic will be posted each weekday sometime after 12 noon EST.

Who will we choose? It's pretty easy to narrow the field of celebrity options .... We will look through the previous day's RedCarpetMVP.com's Red Carpet News posts and choose a pic to post. Check in to see our news posts throughout the day to see who is making Red Carpet headlines! Add those celebrities to your Active Players and you could earn yourself 15,000 points. Monday's "Daily Pic" will be based on the Red Carpet News posts from the previous Friday.

Win Prizes

What would a red carpet game be without awards??! Do you have your acceptance speech ready?!

Besides a ton of glory, you will win Red Carpet Awards along the way. Virtual trophies, badges, handbags, shoes and even designer coffee are up for grabs. You’ll win goodies for earning points, inviting friends, answering trivia correctly, winning photo contests, and more. Display your awards on your RCMVP profile page as well as your Facebook page. Make your Friends jealous.
